Privacy Policy

  1. The Company recognizes the utility of personal information (including personal numbers and specific personal information) and the importance of its protection, and complies with related laws, regulations, and other standards to ensure the appropriate management and protection of all personal information handled in the course of business. The Company will formulate, operate, and manage its own regulations in consideration of international trends in the protection of personal information, and will make these regulations known to all employees and other concerned parties, while striving to maintain and improve them on a continuous basis.
  2. The Company will acquire personal information by legal and fair means, and will notify or clearly state the purpose of use of such information to the person who is the subject of the personal information. However, if the purpose of use is clear from the circumstances at the time the information is provided, the Company may omit specifying the purpose of use.
  3. When the Company receives a request for disclosure, correction, suspension of use, deletion, etc., of personal information from the subject of the information (the person to whom the personal information pertains), the Company will promptly respond to the request after confirming the identity of the person to whom the information pertains and in accordance with the intent of the law.
  4. The Company will not provide personal information to any third party without the consent of the subject of the information (the person to whom the personal information pertains) or unless permitted by law.
  5. The Company will maintain the accuracy and up-to-dateness of personal information, manage it safely, and strive to improve necessary and appropriate information security measures to prevent the loss, falsification, or leakage of personal information.

Items for public announcement based on the "Act on the Protection of Personal Information"

1. Items Concerning Public Announcement of the Purposes of Use of Personal Information (Article 18 of the Act)

The Company will use personal information within the scope of the purposes of use described below (including related purposes) for each business conducted by the Company.

Purposes of use of personal information concerning the Company's business partners such as suppliers of raw materials for products and manufacturers of products, creditors of the Company such as lenders, debtors of the Company such as borrowers, consultants such as lawyers and certified public accountants, and other persons who have a contractual relationship or a debt-credit relationship with the Company in connection with the Company's business

4. Purpose of use of personal information of persons who contact the Company by telephone, fax, etc. for consultation, inquiry, etc.

  1. Correspondence and other communications in response to such contacts
  2. Management of contact history
  3. Analysis and review for improvement of products and services
  4. Notification and reporting in accordance with laws, regulations, and other norms
  5. Provision of personal information to third parties to the extent necessary to carry out the preceding items

5. Purposes of use of personal information of shareholders (including those who were shareholders in the past)

  1. Performance of obligations or exercise of rights under the Commercial Code and other laws and regulations, or responses to such obligations or rights
  2. Sending distribution materials to shareholders
  3. Management of shareholders to the extent necessary to carry out the above
  4. Notification and reporting in accordance with laws, regulations, and other norms
  5. Provision of personal information to third parties to the extent necessary to carry out the preceding items

6. Purposes of use of personal information concerning applicants for employment

  1. Reviewing and deciding whether to accept or reject an applicant for employment
  2. Correspondence related to acceptance or rejection
  3. Management of employment history
  4. Notification and reporting in accordance with laws, regulations, and other norms
  5. Provision of personal information to third parties to the extent necessary to carry out the preceding items

7. Purposes of use of personal information of directors, employees (including former directors and employees) or their family members

  1. Appropriate allocation of personnel and other personnel management, payment of salaries and other labor management in the Company's corporate group
  2. Welfare, health and safety management
  3. Education and training
  4. Notification and reporting in accordance with laws, regulations, and other norms

Notwithstanding the foregoing, the Company may use the information to notify or otherwise communicate with individuals whose names and contact information are legally held by the Company to the extent necessary to conduct the Company's business.

Notice
The Company may review the purposes of use of personal information from time to time in a lawful manner and may change the purposes of use of personal information to the extent permitted by law. The Company will notify or publicly announce any changes to the purposes of use as appropriate.

2. Items regarding the joint use of personal data (Article 23.5.3 of the Act)

The Company may share personal data with domestic group companies listed on the Company's website for the purpose of informing customers about the Company's products and services or for sales promotion. The personal data to be shared are name, address, telephone number (including fax number), e-mail address, company (organization) name, department name, job title, position, inquiry history, purchase history, and other inquiry information, and the purpose of use is the same as the purpose of use described in 1 above. The Company is responsible for the management of such personal data.

3. Items regarding retained personal data that should be made available to the individual (Article 27.1.1,2 of the Act)

Items related to the Company's retained personal data are as follows.

4. Procedures, etc. for requests for disclosure, etc. (Article 27.1.3 of the Act)

(1) Content that can be requested

The Company responds to the following requests from individuals or their representatives regarding retained personal data that identifies them, in accordance with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information (hereinafter referred to as "the Act"), from April 1, 2005.

  1. Request for "Notification of Purpose of Use" (based on Article 24.2 of the Act)
  2. Request for "Disclosure" (based on Article 25.1 of the Act)
  3. Request for " Correction, addition, or deletion of contents" (based on Article 26.1 of the Act)
  4. Request for "Suspension of Use or Deletion" (based on Article 27.1 of the Act)
  5. Request for "Suspension of provision to a third party" (request based on Article 27.2 of the Act)

(2) Request procedure

To make a request, please fill in the necessary items on the prescribed form (Request for notification of purpose of use and disclosure, etc. of retained personal data), attach the necessary documents for identification, and send it by mail to the address below. Note that the Company does not accept requests by telephone, fax, e-mail, or in person. Requests for personal information are accepted only by the Company's Personal Information Consultation Service, and not by employees of the Company's divisions, etc., who usually respond to inquiries.

(4) Documents required for identification

Please prepare the following documents (both (1) and (2)) for each request. If multiple requests are made at the same time, however, it is not necessary to attach duplicate copies of these documents.
These documents will be returned when a reply document is sent to you.

  1. Copy of driver's license or passport (1 copy)
  2. One original copy of a certificate of residence or certificate of seal registration (issued within the last three months)

(Note) Please contact the Company's Personal Information Consultation Service separately for alternative documents in the event that the documents in (1) above cannot be provided.

(5) Request by proxy

If a request is made by a representative, please enclose the following documents (A or B) in addition to the documents listed in (3) and (4) above.

A. In the case of a legal representative
  • A document to confirm that the representative has the right of legal representation (a copy of the family register or, in the case of a person with parental authority, a copy of the insurance card with dependents' names written on it is also acceptable): 1 copy
  • A document to confirm that the representative is an authorized representative of a minor or an adult ward (a copy of an official document such as a driver's license or passport of the legal representative): 1 copy
B. In the case of a proxy by power of attorney
  • A letter of attorney (1 copy)
  • One original copy of the person's seal registration certificate used to prepare the power of attorney

(6) Request fee

A fee of 600 yen is required for each "notification of purpose of use" and "disclosure" request." 600 yen in postage stamps must be enclosed with the application form and required documents. No fee will be charged for other requests.
Please note that the amount of the fee is subject to change without notice.

(7) Reply procedure

The Company will respond to each request by sending a written reply by registered or personal delivery mail to the address indicated on the certificate of residence or certificate of seal registration attached to the request form.
The Company will send a written response within one month of receipt of the request, but please note that there may be a delay due to circumstances.

(8) Cases in which the request fails to be responded to

Please note that the Company will not respond to requests in the following cases.

  1. If the request procedure is incomplete (e.g., omissions in the request form or errors in the method or content of entry, failure to attach required documents, insufficient or non-payment of fees, etc.)
  2. If the identity of the person making the request or his/her representative cannot be verified
  3. If the request is made for personal information that does not fall under the category of retained personal data
  4. Other cases that do not conform to the intent of laws and regulations

5. Complaints and Inquiries (Article 27.1.4, Article 35 of the Act)

Complaints and consultations regarding personal information are handled by the Company's Personal Information Consultation Service.
